Healthy Together supports farmers who participate in FMNP programs across more than one state. This guide walks you through setting up your account for each state, avoiding common issues, and successfully linking your farm.
What you'll need:
The Healthy Together app installed on a smartphone or tablet
Access to your email account
Your farm ZIP code, Farm ID, and Stamp # if appropriate for the state
A unique email for each state you participate in (details below)
Step 1: Open the Healthy Together App
Launch the app and tap Get Started.
Step 2: Log In Using a Unique Email Per State
You’ll be prompted to log in using a phone number or an email. Email is recommended if you are participating in more than one state.
Important: Use a different email for each state
Healthy Together uses your email to identify and connect your FMNP records. If you participate in multiple states, use a unique email address for each.
Email users with the following domains can add a +tag to create variations of their email that still go to the same inbox.
Email Domains that allow the "+" feature for creating aliases:
✅ Providers that support “+” aliases:
Gmail – Works for personal and Google Workspace accounts.
Outlook / Hotmail / Live / Microsoft 365 – Works, though some business accounts may block it.
Yahoo Mail – Limited support; requires enabling disposable addresses.
ProtonMail – Fully supports it.
Fastmail – Fully supported with advanced filtering options.
Zoho Mail – Supports “+” aliases out of the box.
Hey.com – Built-in support for filtering with aliases.
❌ Providers that do not support “+” aliases:
iCloud Mail (Apple) – Doesn’t support “+”; offers up to 3 separate custom aliases instead.
⚠️ Notes:
Some websites may block email addresses with “+”.
Your work or school account may have this feature disabled by your IT admin.
“+” aliases are great for organizing email or tracking where spam comes from.
NOTE: These are NOT NEW EMAIL ADDRESSES, simply recognized as unique aliases for the purpose of having 2 unique logins in this example.
For example:
myfarm+MD@gmail.com for Maryland
myfarm+VA@gmail.com for Virginia
-
myfarm+TX@gmail.com for Texas
You can see this illustrated in the examples below. Imagine my email address was "TestFarmFMNP@gmail.com" and I wanted to connect to Virginia and Maryland. I would login once for Virginia with:
THEN after setting up Virginia completely, I would log out of the app, and log back in to do Maryland with:
After submitting your email, check your inbox for a 6-digit PIN code.
Enter the PIN in the app. In this example, I'd enter 632006
Step 3: Select the State You Are Connecting To
You will be asked to select your state. This determines which programs are shown next.
Tip: Make sure the state you select matches the email alias you used to log in. For example, if you used myfarm+VA@gmail.com, select Virginia.
TIP: If you do not see this screen when trying to connect to the new state, it means you have already used the unique email or phone number to connect, and will need to try again with a different email or phone number.
Step 4: Enter Your Name
Enter your full legal name.
Step 5: Review and Select Available Benefits
Once setup is complete, go to the Benefits tab to view the programs available in your selected state.
Select the relevant program (for example, Virginia FMF Authorized Farmer) to connect.
NOTE: Make sure to select the FARMER option, and not the "Senior" option
Tap Connect to My Account to continue.
Step 6: Enter Your Email and Farm ZIP Code
Choose to continue with email or phone:
NOTE: It is critical that you use the email address or phone number you provided ON YOUR FARM APPLICATION that you submitted to the related state program.
Then enter the email you logged in with and your farm’s ZIP code, Stamp #, or Farm ID. Each state may require different information on this screen:
This must match what the state agency has on file for your farm. Be sure to use the same email alias as earlier.
Step 7: What If Your Account Isn't Found?
If Healthy Together can't match your information, you'll see a "No Account Found" message.
You can tap Apply to manually submit your information for approval by the state agency.
Reasons this may happen:
Your email or ZIP code doesn't match what the agency has on file
Your account isn't active yet in the system
The wrong state was selected
Step 8: Repeat the Process for Other States
To connect to a second or third state:
Log out of Healthy Together
Repeat steps 1 through 7
Use a different email alias and select the correct state
Each state will appear under the Benefits tab once connected.
Recap
Use a unique email address for each state
Select the matching state during setup
Double-check your farm ZIP code
Tap Apply if your farm is not immediately found
This will ensure you are properly connected to FMNP programs across all participating states.
